Fire Doorsets
We understand that fire ratings and classifications can be complex and, if you are unsure of what you are looking for, it can make it difficult to find the right fire doorset for your next project. Here at Modulo, we have a desire to simplify specification, compliance and installation, which has led us to create the strongest, most adaptable internal doors available in a wide range of design to suit any interior.
A fire doorset is a specialised type of door designed to control the spread of fire and heat within a building, enhancing the safety of its occupants. Fire doors are critical components of a fire protection system, particularly in commercial buildings, apartment complexes, and other structures where safety regulations require fire resistance. Fire doorsets are typically tested and rated according to international fire safety standards.
At Modulo, we have a range of internal and PAS24 fire rated doorsets, designed to create beautiful contemporary interiors and to give our customers peace of mind on all fronts. Our Flat Entrance Door has 30-minutes and 60-minutes fire rating and PAS24 security. You may ask what is PAS24? A PAS24 door is a doorset that has passed the British Standard that sets the requirements for door and window security in the UK. The PAS24 standard is a certification to prove that doors and windows can withstand attack and prevent breaking and entering. Our Internal Doorsets have also been tested to 30-minute and 60minutes fire rating, along with our Communal Doorsets which has up to 60-minutes fire rating. Even though these are fire rated doors, the lead times won’t increase which is ideal for any passive fire companies and retrofit projects.
We have a dedicated team who have spent a huge amount of time going to fire tests and improving products to make sure they are fire compliant and up to safety standards of the building. We conduct fire tests that are then used by a UK designated body to generate and increase scope of field of application reports and certification, so our customers can feel happy the doors in their project are correctly specified with the required in information for integration into the wall system. The team also take time to make sure they are up to date with any new regulations or processes that come out as it will affect how to specify doors and if you don’t comply with the new regulations, your door will not be compliant. The regulations have been put in place to keep the building as safe as possible. A requirement we are aware of is that soon all new front doors will need to be PAS24 rated. We can offer PAS24 fired rated flat entrance doorsets, whilst them still being adjustable and fast to install.
A huge shout out to the team, as we have recently passed two fire tests for EI30 and PAS24 doors. What does EI stand for?
The EI rating defines ‘(E) Integrity and (I) Insulation’, also indicates how many minutes a doorset/assembly will resist the passage of fire structures for integrity and insulation in minutes. The same format applies:
EI30: The door has been shown to control the spread of fire and heat for at least 30 minutes.
EI60: The door has been shown to control the spread of fire and heat for at least 60 minutes.
EI120: The door has been shown to control the spread of fire and heat for at least 120 minutes.
By passing the EI rated fire test, we are providing customers with a future proof fire compliant solution. All national standards have been removed from building regulations with regard to fire protection performance, so all of the parts of BS476 for both reaction and resistance to fire in approved document B have been removed. Only the EN standards can be used to define performance from the end of the 5-year coexistence period which is 2nd September 2029.
At Modulo, we can offer fire rated doors that are simple to specify, simple to procure, simple to manufacture, simple to install and quick at 7-10working days. Get in touch today to see how we can help with your next project.
